QC Healthcare has partnered with Sanguina to bring AI-powered fingernail blood health screening to My Adult Doctor, giving adult patients a new way to monitor blood health from home between clinical visits.

There is a gap in virtual care that most adults have experienced firsthand. A telehealth visit can address a lot, but when a physician suspects anemia or wants to evaluate circulation, the next step has always been the same: go to a lab.
A collaboration announced on September 22, 2026 is working to change that for My Adult Doctor patients across the country.
QC Healthcare, the parent company behind My Adult Doctor, has announced a strategic partnership with Sanguina, an AI-powered digital health company that has developed a non-invasive way to screen for blood health conditions using only a smartphone camera and a patient's fingernails. The technology will be integrated directly into the My Adult Doctor platform, giving adult patients on-demand access to blood health screening from home, without a needle, and without a separate lab visit.
The process is simple. A patient records a short video of their fingernails using their smartphone. Sanguina's artificial intelligence analyzes that footage to screen for signs of anemia by estimating hemoglobin levels, and to evaluate circulation by measuring how quickly blood returns to the fingertips after brief pressure is applied. Both of these have traditionally required an in-person clinical assessment or a laboratory blood draw to access. This technology makes them available between visits, at a time that works for the patient, in the comfort of their own home.
For the adult patient population My Adult Doctor serves, the applications are broad and meaningful. Adults managing chronic conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or kidney disease often experience anemia as a complicating factor that goes unmonitored between appointments.
Patients recovering from illness or surgery, women during pregnancy and the postpartum period, and older adults managing multiple health concerns are among those who stand to benefit most from more frequent, convenient access to blood health data. When clinicians have that information available during a telehealth visit, they can make more informed decisions about whether laboratory testing, a referral, or a change in treatment is warranted.
Anemia affects an estimated 1.9 billion people globally and is one of the most common conditions encountered in adult primary care. Despite how widespread it is, most adults only find out their hemoglobin levels are low when a routine blood panel happens to flag it. Between appointments, neither patients nor their care teams have any visibility into what is happening. This collaboration is designed to fill that gap.
Looking further ahead, QC Healthcare plans to extend Sanguina's technology to My VA Doctor and My Oncology Doctor, both currently in development, as well as to maternal health programs and global healthcare initiatives where laboratory access remains a barrier.
"There is no downside of someone having visibility into their blood health between visits," said Eric Doherty, CEO of QC Healthcare. "This collaboration brings that visibility directly into the home and connects it to licensed clinical care through My Adult Doctor."
For adults who want more continuity in their healthcare between visits, this is exactly the kind of innovation that makes telehealth more powerful. Speak with a board-certified physician on My Adult Doctor to learn more.
